Howdy y'all.

Hope your week has gone well! Looks like this weekend is looking good, mostly cloudy with temps reaching the mid 80s. The perfect weather (in my opinion) to get out and do something.

Friday - August 8th

  • Sunset Sips & Sounds, 330 Cold Soil Road Princeton, NJ, 5:00-8:00PM
    Join the fine folks at Terhune Orchards Vineyard and Winery for Sips & Sounds—an evening of award-winning wines, live music, and delicious farm-fresh bites in our historic apple orchard. Enjoy the sounds of the Barbara Lin Band from 5–8pm, beautiful sunsets, and a relaxing way to start your weekend with friends and family.   • Guided Kayaking Tour at the Plainsboro Preserve, Plainsboro Preserve, 5:00-7:00PM
    Explore the scenic Plainsboro Preserve on a guided kayaking trip across Lake McCormack, surrounded by nature and wildlife. Suitable for all skill levels, all equipment is provided—just bring your sense of adventure! Tickets are $35, more info here
  • Blue Moon Acres Farm Market, 11 Willow Creek Drive, 9:00AM - 5:00PM
    Blue Moon Acres Farm Market opens for the season on Friday, April 18th, and will be open Fridays 9am–5pm and Saturdays 9am–3pm until December at 11 Willow Creek Drive, Pennington. They offer certified organic produce, farm-fresh eggs, locally sourced meats, cheeses, seafood, ice cream, and herbal care products, all grown or made by the farm and local vendors. More info here
  • Dragon Masters Quest, Princeton Public Library, 2:30 PM - 3:15 PM 
    For anyone with kids 7 and up, join the Princeton Public Library for games and crafts inspired by Tracey West's Dragon Masters series. More info here
  • 40th Summer Concert Series, Princeton Shopping Center, 6:00PM - 8:00PM
    Enjoy a series of local bands and singers while you shop, along with a beer garden, this friday at 6. This week stars the band Crash Landing. More info here 

Saturday - August 9th

  • West Windsor Community Farmers' Market, 877 Alexander Road, 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM
    Every Saturday, enjoy over 50 farms and vendors gather on site offering fresh produce, meats, sweets, beer, tea, bread, pickles, and more. Live music and special events every week. More info here
  • New Brunswick Heart Festival, Monument Square, 2 Livingston Ave, 2:00PM-6:00PM
    Celebrate the arts and history of New Brunswick and Middlesex County at this free, family-friendly outdoor festival, featuring live music, dance performances, art activities for kids, craft vendors, and more. Enjoy performances and interactive fun from 2–6pm, with something for everyone including dance classes, face painting, and giveaways throughout the day. More info here
  • History/Nature Hike at Institute Woods, 500 Mercer Street, 4:00 pm - 6:30 pm
    Join the Historical Society of Princeton for a guided hike through the Institute Woods, where you’ll discover local history and enjoy the serene sites and sounds of nature. Highlights include stops at historic landmarks, a visit to the Swinging Bridge, and opportunities to observe wildlife along moderate to advanced trails—so bring sturdy shoes and water!   • Summer Concert Series, Nassau Park Pavilion, 5:00 PM - 7:30 PM 
    Enjoy the final free concert in our summer series, featuring soulful, multicultural music from local artists and free art activities for all ages—just bring a picnic and soak in the sounds of summer. The evening includes an innovative cello performance by Dan Kassel and Friends at 5pm and a vibrant blend of Indian and contemporary music by Swara at 6pm. More info here

Sunday - August 10th

  • Princeton Battlefield Tour, Princeton Battlefield , 1:00 PM
    Explore the historic Princeton Battlefield with a knowledgeable guide and learn about a key event in the American Revolution. Discover how ordinary men made a lasting impact at the Battle of Princeton on January 3, 1777. More info here
  • Sip and Paint, Crossing Vineyards & Winery, 7PM
    Come to Crossing Vineyards for a fun, guided event where you’ll create two custom hand-painted wine glasses to take home—no experience needed!   • Kelsey Theatre's Summer Opera Festival, Kelsey Theatre , 2:00pm
    Come to Kelsey Theatre for a showing of La Bohemem one of opera's greatest love stories, sung in Italian. Buy tickets here
  • Film and Discussion: "The Six", Princeton Public Library, 3:00PM
    A screening of "The Six," a film chronicling the previously untold story of the six Chinese survivors of RMS Titanic, is followed by a conversation with the film's researcher Steven Schwankert. More info here
