Weather this weekend looks mixed, with potential rain on Friday and Saturday, so pack an umbrella if you're going out! Temperatures remain in the low 50s and high 40s throughout.

Here's what's going down this weekend:

Friday - January 9th

  • Super Pet Expo, Edison, 3:00 - 8:00PM
    The 25th annual Super Pet Expo returns to the New Jersey Convention Center in Edison this weekend, offering pet enthusiasts a lively mix of shows, competitions, adoption opportunities, and celebrity animal guests, alongside interactive attractions like stunt dog performances, reptile showcases, and the fan-favorite Ultimate Dog Ball Pit. $15/person for all three days, more info here
  • Artist Reception, Princeton, 5:00PM
    The Present Day Club in Princeton will host an artist reception for Alice Sims-Gunzenhauser on Friday evening, celebrating her solo show “Boundaries and Their Dissolution." Free to attend, located at 72 Stockton Street.
  • Friday Night Tennis Mixer, Pennington, 8:00 - 10:00PM
    The Hopewell Tennis & Swim Center will host its Friday Night Tennis Mixer, a casual, mixed-level event for players to enjoy friendly matches, bring their own beverages and snacks, and socialize after play, emphasizing community as much as competition. $18/person, Sign up here
  • Sunset Meditation, Branchburg, 7:00 - 8:00PM
    The RVCC Planetarium will host a guided Sunset Meditation on Friday evening, inviting participants to unwind under a simulated night sky while exploring mindfulness techniques used by scientists and professionals to reduce stress and build resilience. $11/person, more here
  • ACP BYOB: Wheel Ceramics, Princeton, 6:00PM
    The Arts Council of Princeton will host a BYOB Wheel Ceramics workshop Friday evening, where instructor Sela Stazzone will guide participants through creating their own pottery pieces while enjoying a relaxed, social night of art and drinks. $85/person, more info here
  • Grease, Lambertville, Multiple Viewings
    Music Mountain Theatre will present performances of the beloved musical Grease on Saturday afternoon and evening, bringing 1950s nostalgia to the stage with the story of Rydell High’s Danny and Sandy and the timeless songs that defined a generation. Tickets start at $35, more info here
  • Cole Hallman and His Band, Asbury Park, 7:00PM
    Singer-songwriter Cole Hallman returns to the Jersey Shore to headline the Wonder Bar on Saturday night, bringing his signature “coastal folk rock” sound for an intimate performance with his band and opener Forced to Joust. $20/person in advance, purchased here

Saturday - January 10th

  • Science On Saturday Lecture Series, Princeton, 9:30AM
     Rutgers University’s Rachael Winfree presents “Bees in the Trees: Discovering the Bee Pollinators of Northeastern Forests,” a free talk exploring native pollinators and their ecological roles, open to the public with coffee served before the program. More here
  • Winter Farmers Market, Pennington, 10:00AM - 1:00PM
    Chickadee Creek Farm will host its Winter Farmers Market at 80 Titus Mill Road. More info on their Facebook page.
  • Polar Bear Plunge, Sea Bright, 10:00AM
    Save Coastal Wildlife will host its first Polar Bear Plunge on Saturday at the Sea Bright Beach Pavilion, with registration proceeds benefiting the nonprofit’s research and education programs. $25 to register, more info here
  • GPYO Senior Winter Concert, Ewing, 6:00PM
    The Greater Princeton Youth Orchestra will perform its Senior Winter Concert Saturday at Kendall Hall in Ewing, featuring the Symphony and Concert Orchestras along with the debut of GPYO’s new Flute Ensemble in a program including works by Schubert, Bernstein, and Bizet. Sunday - January 11th

  • Tall Oaks Farm + Brewery 2nd Anniversary Celebration, Farmingdale, 12:00 - 7:00PM
    Tall Oaks Farm + Brewery will mark its second anniversary on Sunday with an all-day celebration featuring craft brews, community cheer, and festivities at its Colts Neck Road location. More info here
  • Asbury Winter Farmers Market, Ocean Grove, 11:00AM

  • Asbury Park Music Awards Showcase, Asbury Park, 4:00 - 8:00PM 
    The Asbury Park Brewery will host the Asbury Park Music Awards Showcase on Sunday afternoon, featuring live performances by local favorites including Monkeys from Mars, Jarod Clemons, Chill Smith, Chris Rockwell, and more in a celebration of the city’s thriving music scene. More info here
  • Pines and Needles: Winter Fun Among the Evergreens, Princeton, 12:00 - 1:00PM
    Marquand Park will host a free family-friendly outdoor program Saturday afternoon featuring games, evergreen identification, pine cone bird feeder crafts, and hot cocoa as visitors explore the park’s winter beauty among its evergreen trees. Free to register, more info here
  • “No-Sew” Great American Birthday Quilt Event, Princeton, 12:30 - 3:30PM
    Morven Museum & Garden will host a hands-on “No-Sew” quilting workshop Sunday afternoon where participants can create fabric squares honoring New Jersey and Princeton as part of the nationwide Great American Birthday quilt, celebrating history through creativity and community storytelling.
